How are we to trust our leaders when they would rather aid foreign countries than to rebuild the Gulf Coast?
Congress recently approved a large relief package for the Gulf region and most sources say that Bush is going to veto the bill. On the same note he approved sending billions of dollars in weapons and manpower to the Persian Gulf. The cost of one missle could rebuild a home that is still uninhabitable almost two years after the storm. Insurance companies are denying damage payouts all over the region, even to families that have all the right coverage (flood, wind and hail and storm) and who have payed insurance to these companies for twenty, thirty years. The goverment needs to enforce that these companies pay and our goverment needs to worry more about the problems we face in our own communities rather than thousands of miles away. Until I see Iraqi or Afghan tanks roll through our streets I will not take up arms for a warmongering, election stealing “president”.
Dude, as far as trusting our leaders –that went out the window long before Katrina/Rita was even a slight breeze off the coast of Africa. The mis appropriation of funds starts at the top of the Republican food change and trickles its fats ass down to the hands of our Democratic slut bag of an excuse for a governor, and our loud mother ingnorant ass Mayor.
As far as Insurance companies not paying out the claims as they were suppose to there are cases pending all over the Gulf where our leaders are “attempting” to remedy this situation. As is the case time and again, people who work all there lives to provide for there familes, and prepare for their future are screwed. While those who sit back and do nothing, from paying for insurance, to not evacuating, are given, rental assistance and are privy to whatever money The LA Road Home is offering.
That’s right 18 months after Katrina, people are still recieving rental assistance. If you can’t get a job somewhere new, and pay your own way somewhere that is a hell of alot cheaper to live than Post-Katrina Metro New Orleans, something is wrong. Very, Very WRONG.
The whole situation is screwed. From Iraq to The Crack. Where do you even start blaming? So many directions for my finger to point. The President is a bumbling jackass, granted……..but he’s leading a bevy of jackasses on both side the line. But until I am ready to picket or protest, or do anything but bitch quietly on the sidelines. The only person I can blame is myself.
